New Releases Choreographers Showcase

Held at "the hub of DC dance activity" (Washington Post), the annual New Releases Choreographers Showcase presents a weekend of innovative new works by emerging and established choreographers from throughout the region. More than 30 choreographers auditioned to be included in the Showcase, with the final participants selected by local dance artists Stephen Clapp and Laura Schandelmeier. Featuring a mix of Indian, Flamenco and modern dance, the selected choreographers for the 2008 Showcase are Nicole Klett, Sarah Levitt, Erin Malley, Vijay Palaparty, Nellie Rainwater, Estela Velez, Kim L. Williams-Bell, Stephanie Yezek and Vladimir Angelov whose work will be performed by the students of the Dance Place Repertory and Performance Class. Participating in the Showcase is a sought after opportunity for dancers to present their work to area audiences.
