NEXTgeneration Youth Programs give over 25,000 local youth and families access to dance, creative education, and scholarships through our camps, workshops, performances, classes and more!

Dance Place’s NEXTgeneration Youth Programs are an essential part of our mission and are integrated into every aspect of our organization as a theater, school and community center. The NEXTgeneration programs help young people realize the creative possibilities in their lives with dance instruction, academic enrichment, life skills and job training.

The Hyman M. Perlo Fund for Education & Culture honors Hyman M. Perlo’s vision of a better society by investing in our children and nurturing their talent.

Contributions to this Fund support extensive cultural endeavors and our NEXTgeneration Youth Programs for children and teens.

8th St Arts Park Rendering

8th St Arts Park is a new development in Brookland / Edgewood funded by prestigious $500,000 grant from the Kresge Foundation in the now vacant Kearny Street alley between Dance Place and the adjacent Brookland Artspace Lofts. Funding will also support interactive programming for all ages as well as wayfinding efforts in our Brookland/Edgewood neighborhood.
