Christopher K. Morgan & Artists makes its debut as a Dance Place Resident Company at Toast Christopher!
Enjoy an evening of works by Dance Place Executive Artistic Director Christopher K. Morgan, CKM&A Assistant Director Tiffanie Carson and Adriane Fang. Join Christopher for a VIP post-show party with reception by District Fishwife, Wardman Wines and more. Party attire encouraged!
Opening the program will be Christopher’s solo Unpredictable Repeat Hesitation, which puts the audience in charge of the score – and of Morgan’s dancing!
The world premiere of Assistant Director Tiffanie Carson’s B.U.G. – [Backlight. Uplight. Glare.] is a play on the lighting rating system of the same name and a meditation on the symbolic resonance of attraction between light and dark. B.U.G. features an original score played live by electric cellist / composer Wytold.
Guest Choreographer Adriane Fang (University of Maryland faculty, formerly of Doug Varone & Dancers) has staged her powerhouse duet Conflict Resolution on Christopher and Guest Performer Alex Springer (also of Doug Varone & Dancers).
Closing the program will be Christopher’s 2014 work, Inconstancy, a look at relationships and how the grass is always greener on the other side. This funny and poignant work features an original score by violinist / composer David Schulman and was praised by the Washington Post as “a fast paced kinetic charge – that has emotional content, too.”
