An event every day that begins at 7:00pm, repeating indefinitely

Using Indian classical dance and music as well as Annamayya’s timeless poetic discourses, Prakriti Dance’s new work Okatai: Oneness shares universal themes of unity and equality that are just as relevant today as they were long ago.
In a world filled with turmoil, violence, discrimination and segregation, the underlying unity within our diversity is almost invisible. Brief moments of compassion, service and acceptance that dissolve the “me” into “we”, slowly remind us that a sense of oneness may be closer than we think. In the words of the 15th century Telugu mystic, Annamayya, “All the beings of creation are one because the indwelling spirit is one and the same.” Ultimately, we all are pieces of one whole; embers of one flame; compartments of the collective.
Founded by Co-Artistic Directors Kasi Aysola and Madhvi Venkatesh, Prakriti Dance uses the movement vocabulary of Bharatanatyam to communicate inspirations from nature, philosophy and the human experience. By interweaving lyrics, dance and visual design, Prakriti Dance explores multifaceted performances that transcend cultural boundaries.
