An evening-length dance theater work featuring Ronya Lee Anderson\, Valerie Branch\, Melissa Lineburg\, Tariq O’Meally\, and guest artist Pricilla Smith as The Real Donna J. Trump\, co-Directors Stephen Clapp and Laura Schandelmeier expose a white patriarchy that aims to maintain and build its own power. How does our culture navigate towards truth and healing when bombarded with celebratory misogyny\, sexual aggression\, and blatant racism at the highest levels of power? In answer\, Naked King examines how oppressive systems of racism and sexism manifest in the art form of dance. Like the child in Hans Christian Anderson’s fable\, Dance Box Theater points the finger – the Emperor has no clothes.\n \nInnovation\, collaboration\, social justice\, and the human condition form the cornerstones of Dance Box Theater’s artistic vision.
