antithesis collides the bodies and cultures of postmodern and erotic dance to challenge how female sexuality is perceived, performed and presented. Built upon poet Audre Lorde’s essay Uses of the Erotic, the project mines the erotic as a source of power and creativity. With performers from both the postmodern and erotic dance world – including erotic dancers, pole dancers and burlesque – the work unencumbers the erotic from the pornographic and embraces the tactile, chaotic and passionate edges of female expression.
