Artists are often from our Presentation series and will offer community classes and workshops in combination with their Dance Place performance weekend. Open/Play Community Movement Workshop With Mark Caserta | Saturday, February 7, 2026
We are thrilled to welcome back Mark Caserta of BIGKID DANCE, our second 25-26 Carla Perlo Fund recipient, for a bold, evening-length performance that blends contemporary dance with powerful theater. Premiering at Dance Place and set in a world facing collapse, If I Die Before the Revolution is a “fantastical farewell” that explores the deep emotions of the queer experience—from fear and loneliness to love and legacy.
Drawing a poignant line between today and the history of the AIDS crisis, the work tells a high-stakes story of fighting to be seen and celebrated, even when the world feels overwhelming. As a centerpiece of our season, it serves as a moving reminder to find “home” in one another and build community as our greatest act of resistance.
