Local Residencies

Dance Place is proud to introduce a new creative residency dedicated to supporting the community of emerging choreographers right here in the DMV throughout the season. This season, we are thrilled to welcome the cohort of Tabata Vara, Leah Esemuede and Joey Rauch, Paeytn Lewis, and Annika Dodrill. Through this week-long residency, these artists will receive dedicated studio space and invaluable time to cultivate their practice. Beyond providing a creative home, the week also offers mentorship opportunities, connecting them with experienced dance professionals. Artists may also share works-in-progress through informal showings, offering audiences a glimpse into their creative process and fostering community dialogue.
