Adult Classes

This class uses pop music to disrupt the atmosphere of traditional ballet classes. 

Class opens at the barre where we will build a strong foundation before moving into center and across the floor work for more developed combinations. This class is set to pop music.

Bellydance as we know it in the western world, originally called in Arabic as Raks Sharki, Raks baladi, or just Raks, is a dance that is done in community with a big focus on improvisation and connection. Learn the foundation, basic technique, fun combos, and expressive short choreographies to understand the character of its music and dance.

Contact Improvisation holds a class during the first hour of each session to help newcomers and experienced dancers alike develop and deepen their skills and understanding of Contact Improvisation.  This leads into a 2-hour jam.

Learn different Cuban popular and social dances such as Cuban Son, Casino and a lively and fun group dance called Rueda de Casino, Popularly known as “Cuban salsa.”

Influences of classical technique are fused with contemporary and improvisational movement practices while we explore floorwork, inversions, weight shifting, and partnering.

This open-level Dance Conditioning class, based on the American Barre Technique and informed by the instructor’s dance experience, is designed to strengthen, tone, and support the body for dance and everyday movement. Students will engage in targeted exercises to improve alignment, posture, and muscle awareness while learning basic anatomy in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Note: Please bring a yoga mat as they are not provided.

Classes will focus on building confidence and allow dancers to discover new possibilities about their dance journey.

In this high-energy Jazz class, we will explore directional facings, rhythm, test your endurance, and center our focus on the performance value while also moving in and out of the floor. We will be using both Jazz and Contemporary concepts as inspiration for this class.

Experience a wide range of dance and movement techniques including Laban/Bartinieff, Horton, Social Dance and Yoga, using floorwork, gesture phrases and combinations.

This 60-minute class will be focusing on getting in touch with your body through deep stretching. We will work on body isolations, and movement combinations so you can move with more confidence and sass.

And of course when carnival calls, you’ll be answering with a smile 🙂

Pulling from their cultural roots and stories of transformation within Hip Hop culture, these artists will share Hip Hop dance as a form of community connection, soul connection, and joy.
