We recommend novice students or students with only one year of experience in a style to start with the beginning level. Students with two or more full years of experience can try the intermediate level. Summer Tuition Rates

We are offering families pay-what-you-can options for all Kids on the Move classes. Each payment option represents the price of one class per week for the entire semester.

Class Descriptions

This class introduces students to the elements of ballet. Ballet exercises including barre work, center work, and across the floor combinations, combined with creative lessons in rhythm, coordination, balance, and musicality stimulate students’ creativity and self-expression. (Suggested attire: ballet shoes, comfortable clothes for movement or leotards and tights)

This class uses movement activities and creative play to develop students’ motor skills, spatial awareness, movement quality, sense of rhythm, coordination, and balance. Most importantly students receive the foundation for future dance technique classes and classroom etiquette. (Suggested attire: shorts or sweatpants, t-shirts)

This class focuses on various hip-hop techniques including popping, locking, and house elements. Students have opportunities to work on their own freestyle abilities. This class builds strength, stamina, and style through contemporary hip-hop movement. (Suggested attire: sweatpants, t-shirt, sneakers)

This class provides an introduction for young students and one accompanying adult to movement and dance. Using singing, nursery rhymes, activities, props, and the help of their adults, students develop their basic motor skills, coordination, and self-expression. Each student must bring only one adult to class and it should be the same adult from week to week. (Suggested attire: comfortable clothes for movement)

This class introduces students to contemporary dance techniques founded in various styles including Jazz, Modern, Ballet, and African dance. Students learn gestural and pedestrian movements, floor work, and choreography integrated with studies in rhythm, speed, direction, and weight shifting. (Suggested attire: fitted clothing including leggings, t-shirts or leotards; comfortable clothing for movement including sweat pants and sweatshirts for warm-up)

This class introduces students to the fundamentals of tap dance. Students will learn tap terminology while working on the embodiment of rhythm, coordination, and musicality. (Suggested attire: comfortable clothing for movement, tap shoes)

Students focus on basic gymnastic movement and flexibility, working on mats and the mini-trampoline. (Suggested attire: shorts or sweatpants, t-shirt, barefeet)

This class introduces students to both the elements of ballet and the fundamentals of tap dance. Students will spend half the class doing ballet center work and across the floor. Students will change into tap shoes halfway through the class, where they will then learn work on musicality, coordination, and basic tap technique (Suggested attire: leotard, tights, tap shoes)

Jazz is an upbeat, stylish and versatile dance form. This
technical class includes a warm-up, across the
floor movements, leaps, turns and center combination work to
fun and upbeat music. (Attire: footless stretch pants / tights,
t-shirt/ leotard and jazz shoes).

Learn different Cuban popular and social dances such as Cuban Son, Casino and a lively and fun group dance called Rueda de Casino. Popularly known as “Cuban salsa,” the classes use popular music from the island including Songo, Changüí, Cubaton and Timba. (Suggested attire: Comfortable clothes you can move in) 

This class will focus on modern and contemporary dance
technique including gestural and pedestrian movements, floor
work, across the floor and choreography. (Attire: bare feet and
comfortable clothes for movement)
